The vast world of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is filled with numerous hidden challenges that test a player's wit and creativity. Among these trials is the Wao-os Shrine, a unique puzzle located deep within the chilly Hebra region that relies entirely on physics and momentum. Mastering this specific trial requires a solid understanding of how objects interact when propelled by mechanical forces.

Finding the Hidden Cave Entrance

Before you can attempt the puzzle within, you must first locate the shrine itself, which is cleverly concealed from plain sight. The entrance is tucked inside a dark cave underneath the Passer Hill area, situated just west of Lake Totori. Tracking this location down is directly connected to completing "The White Bird's Guidance" shrine quest given in Rito Village.

Once you navigate the cliffside ledges and enter the cave, the glowing green structure will become visible across a small pool of water. Activating the terminal allows you to step inside and face the trial known formally as Lever Power. This zone focuses heavily on the application of weight to launch projectiles toward distant targets.

Mastering the Lever Power Mechanics

Inside the main chamber, you will immediately notice a large stone lever balanced over a central fulcrum. A small bowl sits on one end of this mechanism, designed to hold a glowing sphere that rests nearby. To solve the first part of the puzzle, you must utilize Link's Ultrahand ability to lift a heavy iron cube situated in the room.

Place the sphere gently into the lever's bowl, then lift the iron block as high as possible directly above the opposite end of the board. Dropping the heavy cube causes a sudden seesaw effect, launching the ball forward into the air. Aim carefully so the projectile strikes the large glowing target situated on the far wall.

Unlocking the Hidden Treasure

Hitting the primary target opens the door to the final altar, but curious adventurers should look around for a secondary reward before leaving. A second, more distant target will appear higher up on the chamber wall once the initial puzzle is resolved. Reaching this target requires creating a longer lever to generate significantly more momentum.

To achieve the necessary distance, use Ultrahand to attach the extra stone board found in the room to the existing lever structure. Place the sphere back into the extended bowl and repeat the process of dropping the iron cube from maximum height. Successfully striking the secondary target reveals a hidden chest containing valuable upgrade materials.
